Left Daleville heading North on Thursday morning. Hiked a long day Thursday and Friday. Stopped for lunch Friday at a shelter and was greeted by a 7ft black snake. He it slithered around as I ate my lunch. Stopped at Jennings Creek around 9:30 and fell asleep to the sound of the rapids just like in Michigan when Mark and I hiked the North Country Trail.
Part of the day Friday found me hiking alongside Gary A. favorite road, the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cars and bikes flew by unaware of the hikers in the woods.
Woke up early this morning knowing there was only 15 miles to get to the road this campground and foodbox were waiting. Stopped on the mountain top 5 miles from the road and made some phone calls before the phone died. Got a ride in 15 minutes of hitch hiking and the kind man brought me here. Hope this finds all well. Talked with Rob and Kara and am going to try to get to Harpers Ferry WV, which is halfway and come home to allow my knees and feet to heal.
More will be revealed.
Good move Bob. Come home to rest & recuperate - this ain't a race & it should be a life memory of wonder & accomplishment, not self imposed torture! I know you'll be on jam with catchin' up with people when you get back but would love to have coffee, lunch or dinner some time. See ya soon!!
